Baby to Boy...

When did this happen? Looking at these pictures I'm wondering when my little baby turned into a little boy... He is amazing his mommy and daddy daily with the things he is learning. I can't believe he will be sixteen months before we know it! These pictures are from his checkup the other day. He was even smiling after three shots! What a trooper!

Pizza, anyone?

Sandra Lee, move over! I've got a Round 2 that'll kick up your veggies a notch! I'm so proud of my semi-homemade, semi-veggie pizza! I didn't have any pesto-so I had to get a little creative. I took 1/2 cup Olive Oil and combined with basil, rosemary, chopped garlic, chili powder, season all, and almond bits (the creative part)... Add a little cheese and you've got a makeshift pesto. Brush on refrigerated pizza dough and bake for 8 minutes on 425 degrees.

We added homegrown tomatoes and onion to our leftover baked squash, broccoli and carrots. SShhh...don't tell the vegetarians, but I added three strips of bacon, shredded. Then, add the veggies and bacon to the dough and top with a little more cheese. Bake for ten more minutes and enjoy the most delicious veggie pizza, from leftovers!

Pioneer Days...

Don't these look just fantastic?! Bryan and I borrowed the book The Pioneer Woman Cooks by Ree Drummond from my dad the other day, and wow... We just had to go ahead and try one of these beautiful recipes! These are her BBQ Jalapeno Poppers and they are scrumptious! This lady does it ALL! I think I found my new hero...lol.

Our First *Family* Vacation

We had a wonderful time on our very first family vacation! We went to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, with some dear friends from college. Who knew there was so much to do there! We stayed busy all week long. I think we did everything there was to do. We shopped, played putt-putt, rode go-carts, and ate. We also visited the Titanic attraction, Ripley's Aquarium, Hollywood Wax Museum, Apple Barn, and we ate. We went to Cades Coves and the Bass Pro Shop, and then we ate. Are you getting the idea here? LOL! We did discover a new restaurant you need to visit if you are up that way-Blue Moose Burgers and Wings. It was a nice little change in menu. We highly recommend it! I wish I had more pics to show, but I discovered it is REALLY hard to take pics and lug everything for a one year-old. All in all, it was a nice little getaway. We are already thinking about destinations for next year! Any ideas?

Water...

If you haven't heard the song "Water" by Brad Paisley...give it a listen. If you have, you know why these pictures make me *smile*
